Common questions about our process
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the scope. A loft conversion is typically 6–10 weeks, a single-storey extension 10–16 weeks, a full renovation 12–20 weeks. You get a detailed timeline with your quote, and we update you weekly so there are no surprises.
Do I need to move out during the work?
Usually not. We plan phases so you can stay in your home. We maintain access to a bathroom and kitchen where possible, use dust containment and clean daily. For major whole-house renovations, some clients prefer to move out temporarily — we'll advise based on your specific project.
What if the project runs over budget or over time?
The quote is fixed — we don't add hidden extras. If unforeseen issues arise (like hidden rot or old wiring), we discuss options and costs with you before proceeding. Timelines have built-in contingency; if delays occur, we communicate early and agree revised dates together.
Who handles building control and inspections?
We do. We submit the building regulations application, book all required inspections (foundations, drains, steelwork, insulation, fire safety, completion) and liaise with the council or approved inspector. You get the completion certificate at handover.
What warranty do I get?
10-year structural warranty on all structural work. Manufacturer warranties on windows, doors, roofing, boilers and appliances are passed to you in full. We also carry £5M public liability and employer's liability insurance.
Can I see examples of your work before deciding?
Absolutely. Browse our completed projects or ask us at the site survey — we're happy to show you similar work nearby and put you in touch with past clients who are happy to talk about their experience.
